I have lots of friends who DJ music or write music as well. This page has downloads or links to various creations by the people that I know and love.
Sean Williams – Voice on Record – Weekly Podcast
Our good friend Sean Williams (Process, Monosynth Orchestra, Satori, Beast) has started his own radio program and I think you should give it a listen. It is called Voice on Record and it airs at something like Tuesday’s around 4:30pm (GMT). I am never around to listen to the show in real time but the shows are archived for download and that is doable for my life. You may download the shows after they air at: podcasts.resonancefm.com/?s=voice+on+record. As far as I can tell, there is no simple way to only subscribe to the one show as a podcast, but maybe there is and you’re smarter than I. Anyway, the show, as the title suggests, features spoken word pieces on vinyl. Voices on records, one at a time. Give it a listen. Broaden your horizons.
Foxdye – Live on KPSU – March.13.2009
Foxdye has been slowly taking over the world during the past year and I was quite fortunate to snag her for an in-studio appearance on the old radio show back in March of 2009. She crafted two sets for us and both are killer. However, if I must be honest, the opening cut on the first hour has a very special place in my heart. Download hour one here and hour two here.
Kixotek – Live on KPSU – February.13.2009
I was first introduced to Kixotek when he entered a contest on my old radio show and remixed the intro music for the program. Since then I have been making him send me music, play at shows and perform on the radio as often as possible. This two-part show consists of a more chilled out first hour and a more intense second hour. Download part one here and part two here.
DJ Oval – Beatravel Mix 2008
Valo is a wonderful soul who produces music under the monikers Vishnudata and Electric Arc. This is a techno mix he made in 2008 while away from home and traveling on tour for 6 months in support of his album Dreamforce. Download the mix here.
Kid Whatever – Live on KPSU – May.27.2004
Over the years, our good friend (and web designer) Kid Whatever had appeared on the old KPSU show many times. This show is quite significant though. Not only was his first performance on the program, it was also the night he and I met and became friends. The audio is sourced from audio cassette and you may download it here.
